Thriving through challenges
Tilahun Abebe, an architect who graduated from Addis Ababa University in 1994 and was born in Bale, Oromia, is the founder and general manager of one of the country’s few grade-one general contractors.
His company, which bears his name, has survived despite many obstacles, including the upsurge in construction material prices, a problem that forced many contractors into bankruptcy because they were unable to complete projects on time, while many contractors have faced closure in recent years as a result of poor management.
